Good thing she's a family member and not a pet!

I've never stopped our furkids from getting up on the couch, not have I encouraged them. It's hard to see them wanting to get up and being unable to.
I take that back. I have actively encouraged Archie to get on the couch. He has needed a large dose of "you can relax and chill". He was so afraid to do anything, poor boy. He enjoys life much more now, as he snores beside me on the couch.

We have blankets on the upstairs furniture that we wash regularly. She lays on the couch and looks out the window and we are fine with that.
The little stinker though will wait for me to get off the couch downstairs and then take the whole thing over like the photo or will crawl up in the spot I sit in because I have a pillow there. She's like a tiger waiting to pounce.
No pets on the furniture is strictly enforced in our house. Except the couch, the chair, the bed(s)... Ok maybe not

The couch is Gabe's favorite place AND the same on the back position-gotta have a belly rub.
Ha ha looks like the rules ma-a-a-y get a little S-T-R-E-T-C-H-E-D here and there at your place
Hah...Dan thinks all the upholstered chairs are his. He shares the (human) beds with Sunnie, though.
The only times Sunnie went up on a chair were one time just before giving birth (nice soft whelping area, I guess) and once to get away from the puppies after they were big enough to be let outside the whelping box.
