Congratulations! Gansett is a very handsome young lad.

I think it depends on the dog for hugging. With Bailey I was hugging and snuggling him his first day home, and I did the same thing with Coleman. Tootsie was pretty stressed the first day she came into the house so we left her alone to calm down. Coleman and Bailey both went to her and Bailey dropped his baby for her but that was it they left her alone until she was ready. By the next day I was hugging and loving on her too. I also was hugging and snuggling my little Annie. Now Lowen SO's aussie didn't like to be hugged or confined. After moving in with them it took me a while to get him used to being hugged and loved on, just slow quick hugs over time.
