Aye Mates,
TRAD and meself spent Friday afternoon romping the New England Woodlands after having spent the morning hunting for woodcock. No particular reason for our afternoon hike other than spending quality time together on what was a truly magnificent fall day. The palette o' color displayed by the deciduous trees was just spectacular and the autumn sunlight seemingly intensified the hues of red, yellow, orange, green, and brown. Our trek took us along the beautiful waters o' the largest o' three ponds owned by me fish & game club which was teaming with wood ducks resting on their way to southern destinations, their primal cries amongst one another alerted them to our presence and launched them skyward.
Our proximity to the water invited TRAD to make multiple swims in the cool yet calm waters, his dynamic entry sending multiple ripples across the surface that was glass-like just seconds before his splashdown.
I captured this image o' TRAD as he basked in the afternoon sun, his black coat reflecting the mid-day light off his still wet fur. I have titled the piece "THE BLACK HOLE", a reference made to the blackness of TRAD surrounded by the radiant colors of the autumn woodlands. A grand afternoon shared by a man and his retriever.
Cheers,
Irishwhistler

I agree, that needs a nice frame. Great shot, I assume this is with the new camera? Very high resolution, excellent photo.
I think it should not only be framed, but is more than worthy of a duck stamp like King Buck's.
A classic design from 1959.
