Katie is doing beautifully. Her "tell" to want to go out has been a little difficult to read but she does not have mistakes in the house. Still letting her out on a regular schedule and she seems to be fine with that. She loves her stuffies and if she has one in her mouth and wants to go out, I make her leave it behind. Little stinker will go out on the porch and do a U turn to come back in and get her stuffie. She's still discovering all the new smells in the neighborhood so she occasionally pulls but not bad at all. That will calm down with time.

She's an absolute love bug to everyone. She's ecstatic when the grands come over wanting to be right in the middle of what they are doing. Took her to Bass Pro and she was a dream, even when meeting with other dogs. We are waiting a while since she just came out of heat to have her spayed. Probably be a little more involved since she had a previous C-section. We'll get though the holidays first.

She did find a small piece of peony root (I had transplanted them to the front yard) and ended up with vomiting. Of course it was night so she ended up at the e-vet. Some med to calm her tummy and a bolus of fluid and she was good to go. Being so new to us I was not going to take any chances. She was a little draggy the next morning but by evening her same wiggly self.

All of our dogs have been allowed on the couch but picked their spot to nap. Katie's spot is on top of me, my first really cuddle bug. I often feel guilty going about daily household chores because she follows me everywhere, never taking a break. Got to say it's so sweet. And, she is the biggest chow hound we have had; she found where the treats were kept in a big hurry. DH has made a really deep connection with her. Even after working all night the two of them are out for morning walkies not long after he gets home.

She's a dream and we love her so much. She's really helped my heart begin to heal.

I'm in love with the update, but must admit that this final sentence makes me tear up. What a blessing...
