    Handsome old man!

This is Omar, he lives in our neighborhood with his family. We had our annual neighborhood bbq yesterday and all the dogs were out playing together. Almost everyone has labs and most of them are pretty young. Except 13 year old Omar here. He let the pups do their thing while trolling the humans for food. He’s definitely in the selective hearing phase of life - his human mom says she thinks he’s deaf until he comes running from 2 floors away when she opens the fridge. [emoji38] At this point in life he’s earned some benefit of the doubt! This sweet old man quickly identified me as the sucker and was my shadow all day - he learned what Thor already knows, and that is that I give the best butt scratches.

Looks like a sweet old guy. My first glance at the photo though, with Omar's head and some other dog's butt, I wondered what kind of lab had a black front and brown behind, but then I put on my glasses...

Omar looks great for 13! My previous lab, Chipper, lived to be 14.5. I love the seniors!
