Fog rising from pond on a hike

I took Cassie for a hike in the State Forest yesterday afternoon. While we were working our way around a pond, fog suddenly began forming just above the surface of the pond. Temperature must have just reached the right point. Got a couple of good photos (wish I had carried my camera instead of my phone)

Lovely. It was the same here, everything covered in frost and fog lying in some areas.

Your phone did great . Nice shots. I know that feeling when I wish I had my camera I can't even count how may times that has happened.

I love fog in general, you can''t get a bad picture in it.

Just out of curiosity, what is the vest for?

The vest is a hunter safety vest. Hunting is prohibited in the State forest but I don't take chances with Cassie being mistaken for a doe. Deer hunting season ends on the 31st here and it is currently primitive (black powder) rifle season. Bow hunting is allowed during the entire deer season.

Besides improving her visability, Cassie knows when she puts on the vest where we are going and gets all kinds of excited.

Us too. Oban does not wear a vest but I do and I put a bright lime green hat on my nearly white hair that makes me look like a deer's back side. Oban wears a bell. I have many times found shotgun shells in a couple of Provincial Parks. A friend cross country skiing in a nearby PP met a guy hunting in deer season and friends beside another PP have found bolts in their back yard.
