    Ice Dog

I swear sometimes I think Brooks has some Husky or Malamute genes. He hates it when it's hot out, and today he laid down in a snow covered field for almost 10 minutes while we were setting up another training series in the field. The guy that was with me couldn't believe Brooks would just lay there like this. Frankly, neither could I!

Oh boy. He inherited his Grandma Kiku's snow dog gene. She'd do the same thing, esp when younger.

Our Chase would do that, too. More than once I thought maybe he'd developed hypothermia because he'd just be lying there in the snow but then he'd jump up and race around, happy as could be! It's fun to see other labs do that as well. I'm pretty sure Brooks and Chase are not related.

Kimber was another Ice Dog! When it snowed, she would hunkerinto a snow bank and let the snow fall on her. She was much happier in the cold than the heat.
