    Field Training

We do field training with a group a couple time a week. Yesterday was the first time we've been able to train in a couple weeks due to some crappy weather. A friend of mine took some pics of Brooks and myself.

Waiting for the birds to fall.

    Preparing to launch.

    On the mark.

    Eyes on the prize.

    Returning with the prize.

    Waiting for the cast.

    Time to honor.

I need to take the labs out and do some training. Tickle should be able to get her WC, but she's awfully lazy! LOL On the flip side, I did sign up for a springs-worth of monthly POINTER training sessions. Griffs are "versatile hunting dogs" and have special testing for puppies up to age 16 months. I want to try to get her Natural Ability test done, which is like a retriever's WC.

Fun stuff! We are stuck doing obedience right now, as it’s below 0 degrees with a foot of snow and ice in the ground! You’re weather looks MUCH better!

I am jealous. Brook looks like life holds no problems for him. Once again I am having to cancel our indoor training because the weather is crappy. We have had 70cm of snow, then freezing rain and now gale force winds, all in the expanse of a week. The dogs and I are getting shack wacky. It will be April before we see weather that looks like yours. Enjoy your training and think of us poor souls waiting for Spring.

We've been pretty lucky so far this winter. These pics were taken this pas Tuesday, and we got out with a small group Thursday too, with weather almost as nice. We had that one really cold spell, but I've still be able to get in productive training 5-6 day per week. I'll be happy when. we can start working water again. Once we get swim-by done and start working water blinds he'll be ready for Senior tests.

All the pics are great, but I love the Eye on the Prize one. Definitely frame worthy.
