Bella has been around the chickens since I brought her home, but they’ve been separated by fencing because she’s so fast and loves to chase anything that moves. We’ve been working on her recall and listening when distracted. We’re not there yet, but she spent about an hour today with the chickens while they were grazing (Bella was definitely on leash) and did pretty well. A couple of my chickens are pretty fearless so wanted to check her out up close - and she stayed pretty well for me. She’s about 6.5 months old now and hopefully will continue to get more reliable in her listening .
Keep up the good work. It's so hard for them with the instinct to chase. Set her up for success, like you're doing, by keeping a leash or long lead on at all times. Plenty of treats and praise when she responds correctly to your commands.

I might try the reverse technique of you holding on to the chicken and teaching leave it/no. Im finding leave it and no to be very helpful commands...where as come can sometimes be out the window...at least with chili that was useful. every time chili doesnt list to come he ends up in bad situation and still never learns...no/leave it he has learned.

Good girl. Darn chickens, I bet they tease her.
