    A Corny Story

So, the tomatoes and corn are in so I thought I'd make BLTs and roasted corn. Preheated the oven for the corn and started frying the bacon. The smell of bacon was strong so I was watching it very closely. I turned to the sink to make lemonade and took some ice of of the freezer. Usually, this brings Mocha right away. He loves ice. Mocha? Mocha? Uh oh. Mocha, come here! In he comes with one of the ears of corn in his mouth! The corn thief! He took it right off the counter when I was guarding the bacon. He took the shucks off (I found them in the living room along with some kernels) and started eating the corn. Who would have thought?!

That's hilarious! Who would have thought the corn was in peril?!

LOL, smart boy. Who'd a thunk he'd shuck them? Maybe you could give him that job next time, if you can train him not to eat the corn. Bird dogs don't eat the birds, pigs don't eat the truffles, though I think they have a leash on them.

Did you see Bamps' recipe for corn? It's good.

Raw, fresh sweet corn is delicious. Mocha has a good palate.

he knew the bacon would be highly guarded, so he took the opportunity to get some nice tasty sweet corn! just be thankful he went for the kernals and didn't eat the cob! that turns into a sick dog really quickly!

My guy loooooves to nibble the kernals off the cob, with me holding it and rotating it. He especially likes it when i've melted butter on it and salted it! i usually just save him a little bit of mine to finish, but have to remind him not to chomp down and get the cob.

Just a warning on corn cobs.....they are very dangerous for those labs that eat everything because they can cause gut obstructions.

But eating corn off the cob is quite delicious!
