A trick i always used to get him to stay on the scale was put him in a sit, and hold a treat over his nose. He won't budge a muscle ;-).
Bobby's a handsome fellow and yeah, what a beautiful smile!

Oh boy, am I in for a ride. What did you do to prevent her from running, jumping, etc besides tethering? Was it hard to keep them calm for ten days? Bobby's going to hate recovery.
Thanks! Although, I think Bobby is way too distracted to even listen. We had to wait for him to calm down before attempting another weigh in. He kept slipping and almost pulled the power plug out when his leg got caught!I was thinking of teaching him a "table" command by training him to get up, stand and stay on a platform. I just have to find something big enough.

Bobby wasn't very cooperative today. These were the best I could do. Does he need to lose some weight? The average male weight for Labs is 29 - 36kg and the chart at the vet's office said 35kg. He's now 31kg and 28kg would put him below average which is understandable since size is a factor.

Myself, from those photos, I sure can't see Bobby losing 6.5 pounds and not ending up looking too thin.
I think he looks great!
Thanks for the feedback. Initially, the vet wanted him down to 30kg but changed his mind to 28kg. I think we'll just get him to work on losing a little weight so his tuck up and waist are a little more noticeable. I don't think the extra exercise is doing him much harm anyway.

I think he looks great too.
Luna's spay recovery I almost shot myself. It was horrible. They have NO IDEA that they just had major surgery. Stock up on Kongs and freeze them all now.

Besides tethering and Kongs, how else did you keep them mellow during recovery? Bobby's going to hate this. I'm probably going to go insane. Bobby loves his zoomies and exercise outside. Is there any kind of exercise you can do? I know we'll be upping training just to wear out his mind and freezing his Kong everyday.

Honestly I think he would look underweight if he lost another 6 pounds. I cannot see any excess fat on him.
