    Team trad pigeon shoot

TEAM TRAD worked "bird pick up" at a pigeon shoot today, an effort to reduce the number of nuisance pigeons on a friends' dairy farm. TRAD had the opportunity to make numerous marked retrieves on birds. TRAD also saw many birds shot and fall from the sky without being sent on them to make the retrieve, a great practice for making a rock steady retriever. This concept being known as the "non-retrieve", teaches the retriever that he makes the retrieve when commanded to do so and not until then. TRAD literally had birds falling within less than ten feet of him and would not budge from his position until sent to retrieve by my command.

I used my Sony A6000 and "in camera processing" to capture this painting-like image of TRAD with one of many pigeons he retrieved for the gunners today.

TRAD was also later worked on three single cold blind retrieves of three pigeons I had planted in various locations, all at about 200 yards in length. He did some fine work with these blind retrieves, all being done on land.

TRAD had a blast working birds today.

    Cheers,

    Aye Mates,
Thank ye all for ye kind comments on TRAD and me photo. Here's a few more photo's from the pigeon shoot.

Me grand Mate's John and Mindy gunning for pigeons.

    TRAD on retrieve.

The beautiful vista of rolling New England hills just south of the wonderful farm we are privileged to gun on.

Me best gunning Mate Henry swings a deadly smoothbore and often amazes us with his gunning prowess.

    TRAD thoroughly enjoying his work.

TRAD seemingly playing "pigeon peek-a-boo" while holding a mouthful of bird.
