Personally that's something I'd confirm before I said "I do"

We want to keep him for sure. I'm worried they may change their mind and want him back. It's going to be hard for them to get him back, if we have any say so in the matter. He seems so happy now.

What a stunning dog. For his sake I hope he never leaves your house.

I got a dog once in a simular situation. A GR/PB mix named Sally. She was one of the sweetest dogs I've ever had the privelidge to have at home. I would offer to take Russel off their hands permanently! Lucky you!

That occurred to me, too, that they might decide he really is the right pet for them (as opposed to a goldfish or a gerbil). If they decide you can keep him, and I'd certainly push for that, I'd try to get something in writing, get whatever records they have, pay them $1 just to seal the deal.

      "Dear Other Family,

Russell is a terrible, terrible dog. I can't let you ruin your lovely home or your lives by sending him back to you. Chopper and I will endeavor to endure his wild behavior.

Do not try to contact me, it may make his behavior worse.

      Sincerely,
      Chopper's Dad and Chopper"
