    Another Beach Trip!

Took another long weekend down to the SW corner of the state. Hoku got lots of sand dune treks, beach walks, and forest hikes. Here are a few from the weekend. The little one in the photos is my son—she didn't like him to get too far away, and if he got much behind her on the trail she'd stop, turn around, and sit down, refusing to move until he got there. 8 months old, and what a sweet, easy, lovable dog.

Another long hike today through the same forest area. Was supposed to be about a 2.5 mile walk, but several thoroughly flooded (up to waste deep) trails caused turn-backs and the walk turned into closer to 4 miles. I didn't love taking her on such a long one, but it was easy walking, and at her own pace. Just wet, wet, wet. She was, as always, a complete pleasure and total trooper, and then slept in the car for about four hours.
