      Welcome to the family Stihl.

      Enjoy your pup, train with positive reinforcement and patience.

      Looking forward to pictures; we love puppy pictures regardless of breed or mix.

      Funny, I would have thought "steel", in that his color looks like steel.

      Yes, photo please.

      P.S. try to put stuff like the TV remote out of reach, could be serious if he swallows part of it.
      Stihl is pronounced the same as Steel. Depending on your dialect they may be pronounced the same. Since he's a silver I went for the color of steel but added a little of my own character in with the name. Hopefully I won't be raising a wood chipper!

      What does "the OH" stand for?

      OH = other half.

"silver" and "charcoal" are not caused by complete or partial expression of this allele but are epistatic effects based on the genotype at the B locus. Furthermore, the allele was introduced in to the population enough generations ago that linkage to the founder dogs' neighboring loci is no longer apparent.
      Thank you for bringing that to my attention. My understanding was based purely on assumptions, glad to know what gene strand to look into. I will definitely have to research that once I find the time.

      Never was a fan on genetics lol
