    They were interested, but know better than to chase them. Well, Chloe knows better as she has had plenty of close encounters, Sass needed to be reminded, LOL. The deer was actually much closer when we first encountered it - we came around a bush and it was only about 6-8 feet away and unlike most of them it didn’t run away, it just kind of meandered to a safer distance. That was the first time Sass has been that close, and I was surprised but she didn’t even bark at it.

    LOL, a deer's tail is sometimes called a flag. They hold it up when on alert. I was trying not to spoil it for someone else.

    Ahh ... I’ve seen them do that on many occasions, but never knew there was a term for it. That’s what was so odd about this one - it was never on alert and found us very unimpressive, LOL.
