    my twins

My twins..... well for the next couple of months anyway until Ginger turns 11 years old in November

and one of just my Ginger. she was having several sinus infections last month and one episode of gasping for air which sent us to the vet, who then sent us to a specialist. We were thinking she might have something up her nose, believe it or not a lot of Boston's have that happen. The specialist said it was all about her bad right eye. So they gave us new meds which she has been taking for the past 3 weeks or so can knock on wood have been working so far.

So they are both 10 now? Glad to hear Ginger is responding to that treatment. Kind of hard to imagine gasping is related to a bad eye.

Poor Ginger, sinus problems are the worse.

    The are very cute together!

Is there some type of inflammation in the eye which is causing pressure on the sinus cavity???

Yes they are both 10 years old right now, Sarah just turned 10 back in June.

Ginger was so stuffy and congested from the sinus infection on the right side of her nose causing her to be all stopped up. She would have to open her mouth and take in a breath sounded like she was gasping for air. Something like when we have a sinus infection and our noses are all stopped up if you close your mouth and try to breath in through your nose your not getting enough air so you open your mouth and take in gasp for air. Her actual diagnosis is dry eye (KCS) with neurogenic etiology (loss of parasympathetic tone) which lead to her dry nose which became irritated and infected. I was really surprised at her diagnosis too, we thought she had something up her nose. It is all about dry eye and nerve endings in the nasal canal everything is connected so if one part stops working right it effects everything else.

She has dry eye not sure about the pressure in the sinus cavity that is something to think about since they do pressure check her eye, will check with either her regular doctor or her ophthalmologist next month. I found this link that last couple of paragraphs better explain what I am trying to say about her dry eye causing her nose to dry too. The Neurology of Lacrimation by Noelle La Croix, DVM, Dip. Cute girls! I love grey muzzles! I hope Ginger's eye condition can be managed and doesn't cause her too much trouble. My parents have a Boston and that dog makes the craziest noises. And then there's the snoring... We are dog sitting in two weeks and I'm getting ready for our routine to be turned upside down. Boston's definitely have a lot of personality!
