This young porcupine tried a short bluff run at Bonnie but when Oban came back little porky decided it was a good idea to vamoose. Two good doggies were really only mildly curious but they did need to be told to leave him alone and not sniff him. Or her.

Good dogs yeah that could have turned out being bad. I have never seen one in the woods are they common in your area
I am in a rural area so we see them around but this is the first encounter Oban's had with a live one. They're mostly nocturnal but I think are common in most of North America. Oban did get quills in his foot once, I think from bumping into a dead one. We will see a porky about as often as we meet deer or wild turkey, a couple a year.
