    Katie aka Katie Bear

I just wanted to share these videos/pic of my Katie. We got her as a rescue from a shelter when she was just 9 months old. She was quite a mess - very underweight, and chewed and ate everything in site!. Whoever had her cropped her tail or she had it broken off. We will never know. We believe someone let her go because she is gun shy. Let me tell you it's their loss and a major one. She is now just over 15 years old, still loves to fetch and will fetch anything we throw her. She has such as sweet loving personality, loves her cuddles, and still has quite a bit of energy. The vet said her joints are like that of a 2 year old pup. She really is something special. (and that tail never stops wagging..LOL) She won a tail wagging contest at our county fair years ago)

15? WOW. Amazing that she doesn't have any issues with arthritis, while being a Lab. I bet many Labs would like to have her genes!

She is something special for sure. So much energy. She is a lab mix, and somewhat on the smaller side so that keeps her going. Also been one of the healthiest dogs I have ever owned, despite the things she has eaten (leather leashes, razors..seriously., shoes, a whole bag of hershey's kisses - foil and all, numerous beds, and the list goes on :-) None of those required a vet visit even (I had 4 dogs, didn't know which one ate it, although she was a prime suspect). We think her eating issues were due to her being a stray and having to eat what she could to survive. I sure wish dogs could talk so I could hear her story.

She's a beauty. I have a very soft spot in my heart for the seniors. We have a Katie too but she's just a kid, only 7.
