    Awesome video! Thanks for sharing

There is never a good time for the Furminator, it may remove undercoat, but it cuts the top coat and damages it. I use an undercoat rake. :-)

A swim at the pond, or a squirt with the hose and a towel. That's grooming.

I bought a Furminator Curry comb recently that mine seem to like. We'll see how effective it is and how long it lasts.... it's like a zoom groom but not sure it's as sturdy.

I will 2nd the zoom groom as our preferred grooming tool. We take Mocha outside when he is blowing his coat and stand up wind!

I just had no idea. I'll look up an undercoat rake. That crazy Furminator was a bit expensive too. I guess I should have researched it more.

This is the one I use, its great when they are in the "buffalo" stage of shedding, and I can get massive amounts of dead undercoat out.

I like the rake and sort of a zoom groom. Mine was really an old rubber curry comb. Does the same job and if anyone is out shopping for a zoom groom you might find a rubber curry comb for much less at a tack shop than a zoom groom costs. $2.49 as opposed to $12.99 C$ in stores near me.

I pretty well only brush at shedding and bath time too but the rake is great for getting burrs and other stickies out after a walk.

The trick in using a zoom groom (I love mine) is to wash it with something like Dawn after you use it. When it is dusty, it does not hold onto the hair as well and Dawn does a great job of getting any oily surface (from their outer coat) clean as well.

This was from one short session with the undercoat rake when one of my chocolate girls was blowing coat last spring. I got this amount out of her coat every other day for about a week. Dead hair out, beautiful new coat in!

This was in bright lighting, I took this in mid July, with her new coat coming in, she is almost black.
