Lost puppy visits us at Midnight

Our phong rang last night at almost midnight. It was Scott's sister, she was driving and saw a little puppy curled up on a couch by the curb that someone was throwing out, so she took the dog. She lives in an apartment so she called us because she didn't know where to take the dog.

So she brougt him here. OMG - what a little cutie. I'm guessing part lab, part beagle. About 4-5 months old. So after an hour of racing around trying to play with Zeus and Georgia we tried to go the sleep. The puppy was on a "big adventure" so that didn't work to well so we went out to the garage and got Zeus' crate in. Put some blankets and toys in and puppy went right in and laid down.

He is obviously crate trained, clean, he was hungry but not thin as far as ribs showing, nails clipped, ears clean etc. Happy little guy.

So today Scott called our animal control and they came and found his microchip right away, so the officer said that he can contact the owner and have them pick the dog up from our house or take the dog to the facility and the owner would have to pay about $100 in fines. So Scott said sure the puppy can stay with us. So the animal control officer relays this info to the owner and gives him Scott's cell phone number and the owner told him that he'd be here today around 4pm to pick "Frankie" up.

Well - it's 9pm now and he never showed, or called. So I guess Frankie is staying another night. Why would he say he was coming and then not show up. It's obvious he was working the Frankie and training him - he knows sit. And he was well cared for. I dont' get it.

I have someone at work that will take Frankie but I guess we call the animal control again tomorrow and they will have to hold him for 7 days and then my co-worker can work with the place that adopts out the dogs for animal control.
