Father was a career USNavy CWO; he retired in 1937 to VERY rural Vermont in my 3rd grade (1-room school, 8 grades, 40 kids). Mother very strong &, having grown up fatherless in an all-♀ home, she in turn created a dysfunctional marriage & family. I had 2 marriages, 2 divorces, no kids (sniff). I sought therapy, went thru analysis ("ego psychology" type, 5 sessions @ wk, 5 yrs) & later became a therapist (& part-time taught college @ night). I'm now very active in a group for retired University faculty. So far, I'm active & healthy for my age (knock knock). Been an active Episcopalian since my 20s. BA & MA, U of MO '51 & '53; PhD UFla '62. 11 months in Army @ end of WW-2 (overseas in Korea) + 2 yrs Army (in USA research lab) during Korean War.
