a new eating habit
over the past week Jackson has developed a new eating habit - he takes a mouthful of food and runs away, sometimes only a few feet away, and then eats his food. Most of the time he goes to his bed to eat it.
It is now taking him quite a long time to eat all of his food. He does eat all of it, but over the course of say 30 minutes. And we're talking about one cup of food .... The only way he will eat directly from the bowl is if I sit next to it and drop in a small handful. He eats it and then looks at me for more. Is this a puppy thing and will he grow out of it???? I don't want to continue to do this and create a lifelong habit, but I also don't have all morning to get him to eat and then go for our walk! (looks like that unlimited food thing that I took heat here for mentioning has backfired on me!!!! Now he is a super slow poke!) |

I'd change the rules abit- you put the food down for 20 mins what is left at the end is taken away. Suprising how fast pups will get the idea that mealtime is not playtime and don't worry they won't starve but he will get the idea eat now.
