Have a 9 week old Lab. Where are the Conformation shows close to Memphis?
New at this , but, wanted to begin ...Anyone have any suggestions for gwetting started?

Your best resource should be the breeder you got your pup from

They should be able to point you in the right direction for handling classes, an all breed club (I'm not aware of a Lab club down there) and what shows to enter. Tell us about your pup!

Breeder is in Minnesota. She did tell me the basics--AKC web site to look for clubs , but, I haven't had much luck.

I will spend time online this weekend looking for all the good connections.

Pup is 10 weeks old now, about 16 lbs, black female. Very nice Topline, and all the criteria that I think are promising (though this is my first attempt at possible Conformation showing). Sire is Beechcrofts Study Top Secret;dam is from some very fine Kennels She is of dual purpose breeding,ie; Cook's midnight Bandit, Cedarwoods Ruthless Rochelle, High voltage Chase, Swedish Alvgarden Kennels.

There are a ton of shows in the Memphis area but you have missed most of them this year. Go to www.onofrio.com and go to the show results. There was a show Oct 10-11th in Memphis and there are several every year in Southaven. I went to three in Southaven in 3 1/2 months.

Was your pup sold to you on full registration or limited?

she was sold as limited...though, with proper titles (SH or show points) I can get full I do believe.

I found out tupelo KC had a show here in Memphis that weekend and I will check on Little Rock and other areas.

Let me correct that last statement. I am a co-owner. this is not a Limited Registration.

Well you have plenty of time. She can't be shown until 6 months which will put you in the spring shows. There may be some puppy matches you can attend at 4 months. Good luck to you!!!
