I know it wont make her grow bigger my BF is dreaming... he wants Star to be like his PB Black Lab who was 95... no way is she going to ever be that big.

We were doing 4 cups total at 3-5 months old of the Pro Plan, based on the guide, ditto with the Wellness. We are going to cut her to 2 cups total with a spoonful of wet on top.

I bet that is your problem there...the most I ever fed Tux of puppy or adult food was 3 cups...and he is a boy, and bigger than Star (though not by that much at that age). The Wellness is a lot richer than pro plan I'm sure.

If you cut down the amount, I'm almost positive you'll notice a difference.

i didnt realize you were feeding 4 cups a day, with the wellness i would definately feed less as well. That is some rich food

My BCX has always been a good eater but she lost interest in Wellness a week or so into the food and we tried it more than once. The lady who owns the feed store I now use reports that her dogs don't like Wellness either.

This is the only food my BCX has left in her bowl and we've been thru just about everything. Even the foods that don't agree w/her insides were eaten w/enthusasium....so she might not like it.

This is why I buy 6lb bags. LOL She has eaten all of her dinner and breakfast at the new amount of 1 cup dry and a spoon of wet. She still isnt CRAZY about eating, but she sits for it and eats it in one sitting. We'll see what happens.

OMG you guys rock!

She is finishing her food every time at 1 cup am/pm with a spoon of wet. She is also having firmer/formed poops every time, no more ending with pudding! I cannot believe the 1/2 cup extra food was that detrimental. We may still need to change foods if her poop doesn't get more firm, or she stops eating but, for now I think we are on the right track!

Is there somewhere I can go for pictures of what her poop should look like. I know, gross... but I want to know what I should be looking for, it is still coming out in LARGE logs and from what I've read it should be small on a food that works for the dog.

id let her system get used to the wellness then worry about the size of the poop, sounds like the amount was definately too much for little Star, lol you were feeding more than i feed my little 65 pound horse Zoey, im sure you probably already know this but also depending on what you give her for treats, that should be added in as daily calorie intake. I try to keep the treats to a minimum but i have noticed on days where i give her more treats than normal she eats less food and then i think maybe when she has growth spurts she cant get enough food

It never ends! So shes been getting the less amount of food, and been eating really good, finishing it all, and actually getting excited to eat.

For the past 2 days she ends her formed but soft poops with yellow/orange liquid, I feel SOOOOOOO bad for her, she just does the poo walk all over the yard as it drips out and she looks miserable.

We have the receipt for the 3 unopened cans of wet food we have, should I say farewell to Wellness Puppy... I don't want to put her though this, obviously something is not working for her. Still not going to Cal Nat like I know many people will probably suggest.

I'm thinking Natural Balance, but I'm not sure if I should go to Adult food or stay on Puppy, I am switching already so... what could it hurt? Now... what type... they have a ton! Maybe I should try something without chicken, I don't know if she cant handle it but... maybe?

Yes, when she had the vomiting blood episode about a month ago. They found nothing and the whole thing is still unexplained, I can only hope the antibiotics they gave her fixed whatever was wrong.
