Angry Office Complaints: file your grievances here.

I rarely vent but, gosh darnit, I am ****ing MAD.

Recently, a co-worker needed emergency sugery and her husband came to the office to collect her laptop. I let him borrow my laptop bag. Just this morning I asked the co-worker where the bag was. She gave it back to someone else, thinking that's who let her borrow it. I go to that person to get my bag back and that person has no recollection of being given the bag OR she gave it to her ex-husband because it was an extra she realized she had. Basically, I got the "too bad so sad" attitude. The co-worker who borrowed it gave me the *shrug* and 'sorry!' attitude. I don't want to get all bent but come on!

These are the same folks that asked me to get my notary ($150 class and certification) and then refused to reimburse me. It took me six months of complaining to get that money back.

I am very happy to have a paycheck. I am NOT happy being taken advantage of where I work.

You next. Let me know that I am not alone in my misery.

Oh, I can feel your pain... My boss was canned the end of october. So was was handed his blackberry and by default became the manager of the office. So the VP of the company told me it was going to be a 30-60 day trial. I was in NJ last week and asked the person who might or might not be my boss what was the deal (not the VP, but someone else). So then the VP of the company comes to CT yesterday and tells me that I'm doing a great job, but they still can't give me a definitive answer but we'll review it in a few more months. So I'm now pretty much running the office without extra salary or job title. I don't even make the most in the office nor do I get the most vacation time... I too am thankful to even have a job, but I am sick of being taken advantage of.

No major gripes here. I've just gotten to the point where I'm REALLY bored and excited to be done.

Next week I will have a new job to gripe about.

My mom is in a similar situation. One of the other offices hasnt had an office manager in MONTHS. They expect her to do both jobs and she is only allowed 4 hours of overtime per week to do it. She used to love her job, but now she is completely stressed out all the time. She is working more than 4 extra hours per week to get all of the work done even though she isnt getting paid for it.

My mom is too nice. Shes been with this company for a very long time and they know they can take advantage of her.
They havent even posted the other position to TRY to hire anyone.

Ooooh! That would so irritate me!!

That's another crappy thing about about the current unemployment rates. Employers can absolutely take advantage of their employees because they know they'll put up with it. There's nowhere else to go and there's 100 people behind you waiting to be taken advantage of just to get a paycheck. So what do we do? Grumble and bear it.

It goes in cycles.........I know we laid off several people recently and they were the "squeaky wheels". It's hard enough to survive these days as a business, it's time for all employees to work a little harder to make it through.

Tough times for business and people alike.

That said it can be infuriating to work for stupid people......When I left my last job a few years ago that's just what I told them.

I'm retired and home all day, but, my daughter, Tricia, is having a hard time at her full time job. She's a manager at a movie theatre and is ready to "spit nails"! The other managers sit in the office all day and socialize, while Tricia does her work and everyone else's. The general manager, in charge of everyone, never puts her foot down and she allows everyone to do whatever they want. I always tell Tricia, she's not the general manager, she can't make a coworker have good work ethics, and she just needs to concentrate on doing her job and no one elses and to leave work, at work. She's hoping to go full time soon at her part time office job, where she gets along really well with everyone there. I hope it happens soon, because it's hard to be in a constant stressful state at your job.

I resigned from my job yesterday because of stupid people - well, one stupid person. My immediate supervisor was always up my butt for this or that, usually things that I couldn't do anything about. Had enough. I will work through the school year (and get paid until August), and I have a few propects lined up. Its a terrifying time to quit, but luckily the world of music therapy has not been hit by the recession thus far, so that's good.

I have nothing to complain about. At least I don't have a boss looking over my shoulder all day.

It could always be worse...

No gripes here, just glad to have my job. But I would be irritated too if I were you. Drives me nuts when people don't take responsibility for things, especially when it was done as a favor for them.

I just wish other departments would stop shoving their jobs on us. Then, they're on our backs because it isn't done, and they have an audit coming up???

Love my job, coworkers are great to work with - the problem, the business has been sold and we are merging with a large hospital. We are promised offers of jobs but what - not what we are currently doing, half pay and midnight shift in the clinic 2 hours down the road. You don't accept their offer, so sorry, don't let the door . . . . . . Very un-nerving at my age.

I can't complain right now. My company was sold to a larger company about 2 years ago. Prior to that, I HATED my job. Working 60-70 hours per week (salaried of course), no thank yous, nothing. I pretty much cried every day (i worked at home then so crying at work was OK ) AFter the sale of our company, things were very different, but my life got SO much easier. Now we have "corporate" people to deal wtih all of the headaches that we all used to shoulder. I've learned to just do what is asked, put in my 40 hours and I'm a happy camper. My boss thinks I'm great and thats all I'm worried about! I feel for those of you unhappy though - it is NO fun at all to dread going to work every day...
