      February 2017 Photo Contest!

For February we have the theme of "Super Seniors!" Let's give our older ones a share of the photo contest spotlight for a bit.

Here is our girl Calley, looking good at 14:

As always, we will periodically go through and clean things up to keep the thread streamlined for voting purposes.

Here are the guidelines we will be following:

      1) You must be a fairly regular poster -- with a minimum of 100 posts -- to enter the contest. If you don't have 100 posts go to the fun forum, etc. It's easy to get 100 posts. Entries from members with less than 100 posts will be deleted.
      2) The picture must be in keeping with the theme.
      3) Only one entry per member - no series of photos.
      4) No altered photos (borders or thought balloons, etc.).
      5) The picture must be one that you took of your dog.
      6) You must vote for someone other than yourself.
      7) You may win only once in a calendar year.
      8) In the event of a tie, the tie breaker will be the first picture posted chronologically.

      Thank you.

P.S. -- if you have any questions, please feel free to send Calley's Family or Woody a PM.

The monthly contest winner will choose the next theme and also receive a collar with a heavy duty black plastic buckle from our sponsor

      3 dirty dawgz

The Contest will be closed for entries on the evening of Wednesday, March 1st - Good luck to all and thank you to our sponsor!

At what age do we consider them seniors? Love this subject but this is the first time I don't have a chromed face furkid in the house. Archie does have a little around his mouth but not very noticeable.

      Good question!

So, a couple things. First, to answer your question, I looked at this site: When is a Dog Considered Senior?
which says a Lab is a senior at 7.5 years. But it is a photo contest, so I'll let you all be the judge by what you post and who you vote for. Second, as always, pics of our labbies that have passed are okay too. Hope that helps!

Here's a picture of Cookie (who doesn't consider himself a senior, LOL)

      He is 10 1/2

Can I get bonus votes because I have a black lab? It's so hard to get a clear photo! LOL.

LOL on the tall grass and condition of the frisbees. I thought for a moment she was bringing you valentines.

People often comment, "Wait, that's a frisbee?" They are the only thing she chews. Give her a new frisbee, and the first thing she does is gnaw off the lip. When she was younger, we used to search for indestructable frisbees. She gnawed through numerous Kong ones, and so, so many that labeled themselves "tough." We finally just bought lots of 99 cents ones and let her have her fun.

Hello, is it me you’re looking for?
My name is Señor Rambino and I’m 11.5 years old.
I enjoy walks on the beach and goose poop pâté.
      Are you my Señorita?
