poop question
I switched Phil to grain free a couple months ago, and it seems like he only poops once every other day, or at least this has been the case for the past couple weeks.
Before grain free, he was going once every day. I know grain free has less fiber, but is it okay for him to only be going every other day? |

I am guessing that this might be a sign that his body is making better use of the grainfree food and therefore there is less waste put out. That's what happens when dogs are switched to more nutritious foods, they will expel less waste.

I switched my cats to grain free about 3 months ago, and hadn't really thought about it til now, but the same thing is true for them. Also it seems like they have to eat a little less to be satisfied.

Wellness Core, and I picked up a couple of samples of the new Evo fish formula that he's been trying over the past week.

I feed Wellness Core cats do go less than on cheap food. Their stool can be a little too hard on Core. Your cat going at least once a day would be ideal. I also feed some wet food if your cat is active and fit you might want to supplement with some wet food a small amount to help keep your cat regular. You could feed Wellness or my cats no longer like it so I get Fancy Feast that is gluten free. You will have to read the labels. One guide to help you have to read less labels is that anything that says flaked or with gravy is probably going to have gluten in it. Turkey, Kitten food, Beef no gravy, and some of the seafood or fish ones would be some to look at for no gluten.21
You don't have to give a whole can or even do it every day a four times a week should suffice. |

I do Wellness Core and Fancy Feast as my cats also stopped like Wellness wet food. I think they changed something in it they used to love it. I have a diabetic cat both foods are helpful to keep him off insulin:
The following are Fancy Feast flavors contain NO wheat gluten and are below 10% carbs:

member that it is a good idea to limit serving fish to just a few times a week. http://felinediabetes.com/glutenfree.htm You will spend less on litter with these foods. I'd rather spend more money on what goes in than what goes out. Walmart usually has the cheapest price on Fancy Feast just a little even a half a can every other day will help to keep the cat regular. |

Fancy Feast contains by-products, which I will not feed any of my animals.
