Agree with the above comments. Also, is there a possibility of her eating or chewing something before bedtime, in her crate or grass that has had weed killer used on it. Hope for a speedy recovery!

not necessarily, Zoey had giardia at the same age and the diarrhea was intermittent especially when I was giving her rice, it will firm it up for a few poops then diarrhea
I agree that giardia creates mucus....but so does basically anything that causes intestinal irritation.
In Sunnie's case, the irritation comes from pumpkin.
Just a thought.....
Not great on puppy advice, wanted to send sold poop thoughts.
I do know it's possible that giardia does not show up in a single sample. Puzzling though since you would think that she would have...
When my 15 week old puppy started having urgent diarrhea one night, I had her at the vet's office the next morning- talk about neurotic! She went through a couple of courses of metronidazole and one...
Go back to Pro Plan. Food is not economical if the dog is having diarrhea.
Oakley is on the Pro Plan large breed puppy, also. That's what her breeder had her on and she is doing so well on it that I don't think I'm going to switch at this age. (14 weeks) Breeder said to...
I raised Sam on Pro Plan Focus large breed puppy and he did really well on it. I never considered switching.
How much are you feeding her? Is it possible you are overfeeding? Is she getting any additional treats, food, etc? Any possibility she was exposed to a parasite?
You could try going back to...
It does sound like the new food is not working very well for her. If it has been a couple of weeks at this point, it may just not work for her. Is going back to the PP an option? That would be my...
Seems like she may have an issue with the food. I'd call the Vet and ask.
I agree with Nicole. Water in= water out- especially with a young pup. If she's away from the lake a couple days and is still urinating that frequently, then I'd get her checked for UTI.
Puppies plus water (from swimming to big bucket) equal lost of peeing. I'd keep her away from the lake for a couple days and see what you have before getting too excited.
My chili didn't pee that much as a pup and I was super protective of where chili went until he was fully vaccinated. I had read puppies can get parvo from just sniffing invected dogs poo. So I...
What you describe sounds like a UTI to me. I would be taking a urine sample to the vet (collected first thing in the a.m. prior to food or water and in mid stream) to be sure.
I know others tell...
Since she is holding it for so long I'd watch for a possible UTI. It sounds like it is an isolated incident, but keep an eye on her.
Honestly, I think you are fine but keep an eye on her for symptoms of a UTI, they are fairly common.
