I was talking to someone that mentioned a bucket list for their senior dog.
What are things you'd put on a bucket list for a senior dog? especially as their mobility declines and such. I think it...
Hi Oya! To me it kind of sounds like you don't have much choice if you want to keep Cilek comfortable. I know, we always have a choice when it comes to surgery, but something on her eyelid must be...
Hope all goes well for sweet Cilek. I share your concerns about the surgery but it sounds like that's the best course of action, providing that her bloodwork is good. It sounds like a lot of people...
As others have said, if it's about quality of life, I'd do it. Fingers crossed.
So sorry the lump has come back. Since it is affecting the eye and most likely uncomfortable, surgery sounds like the only option. The best you can do is make sure all blood work is normal and a...
You've had a hard road with poor Cilek. It sounds like the growth is affecting quality of life so if her vitals are good, surgery sounds like it's for the best. Many older dogs have surgery and do...
Sending more hugs for you & Cilek! If you can get Galliprant, it might be worth trying--it is still helping my 13 yr old Molly.....
Can you get ahold of a thick piece of foam? Four inches or so would do. Making a removable cover is not difficult at all.
There are some who use baby crib mattresses but they may be a little...

Someone recommended this one a while back with others agreeing. It looks like a nice bed and also looks like Amazon carries it.
Since we're not sure what you can get, we have both egg crate and memory foam. They don't always choose to lie on a bed but when they do, mine seem to prefer memory foam also.
Not specifically for a particular bed, but my oldsters preferred memory foam to the egg crate orthopedics .... we had several different kinds scattered all over the house.
Ask your vet about adding in some Tramadol. That’s what we did with Scully when Deramaxx wasn’t enough anymore and it kept her going for 2 more years until she died of kidney failure at 15. ...
I'm so sorry. We discovered that Fran's pain was the result of spleenic cancer. If you want to pursue it, you'll probably need an ultrasound.
Glad to hear she ate some. Signs of GI issues can include nausea, vomiting (if you see dark red vomit stop Rimadyl immediately), and dark black stool.
Sending good thoughts for both of you.
Do you have Tramadol there? You can give Tramadol and Rimadyl together to calm Cilek's pain. We had Hershey on that combination.

Pain can definitely cause vomitting in humans. I guess it can in animals. I'm sorry, this is such a hard time.
When Jet got to the point her pain was escalating I called her breeder, a public...
So sorry this is happening. Sending prayers.
It's awful when they are in pain and you are not sure what to do, but you want to do something quickly to make them feel better. Your headache was probably from the stress and concern about Cilek. I...
What do you all do when Rimadyl is close to not helping anymore? If I don't give my 13 year old lab one pill a day, I don't think he'd be able to walk. But it's got to the point where it's just...
Barney took Miia in for her xrays today. They wanted to make sure that her lungs were clear...and they were. One side of her heart is slightly enlarged though and the mass that needs to be removed...
I have not been on the board in a very long time. I came on today and saw this thread. I just read through the whole thing and was very relieved to get to the end and read that she is eating and...
She looks amazing! Way to go and not give up. We know our fur kids so when something changes so soon after a treatment, gotta stick with our gut instincts! Nice way to stick in there and get...
Oya, she is so beautiful! You have done wonders, and I hope & pray very much that precious Cilek will be happy & healthy with you for a long time yet!
She looks great. Nice to see a recovery like this from something so concerning...
