Labs are in both "breed specific" and "all breed" rescues. google dog rescue + your area and you'll get a list. Find out a bit about each group to see what they provide(ex: what vetting dot they do? how long and HOW do they asses dogs? how do they screen adopters?). Ensure to find the one that's the right fit for your lifestlye and needs (a good rescue should work with you and won't have you adopt a dog that's completely not a fit).

Labs also find themselves in shelters and pounds so keep your eyes open. note that pounds and shelters don't always provide the same vetting included and may or may not have a decent assessment done on dogs (plus assessment is done in shelter environment). Not to say you can't find a great dogs in pounds/shelters just understand the difference (which often will be reflected in adoption price as well).

Depending upon your criteria, sometimes breeders have older dogs who they are no longer using to breed or decided not to keep as a show prospect and they offer them for adoption. These dogs will be much more expensive than those from a rescue or shelter, but they are typically very well bred and may be housetrained. I'm not sure of all the labrador retriever clubs near you but you could look at these sites to get started:

Also, you didn't mention if you've ever had a lab before so if not, be sure to do some reading about the breed before you commit. We're pretty devoted to our dogs and the breed in general. Too many young labs end up in rescue or shelters because the new owners didn't really know what they were signing up for. Here are a couple of articles to look over if you're new to having a lab.
