You must all be sick of me, if you remember me at all
ok, for a change i haven't been around. still doing the pt and gym daily. they say great and i say crap. lots of pain when the barometer is moving around and what can i say.
to top it off, 4 grand in 2 months for vangie and eli. i'll start with vangie who has been a puker for 6 yrs when i got her at 2 from guiding eyes. tsunami puker. this last episode was 7 times, ending with blood so i got to the vet the minute the office opened. the fact that my vet sold to a corporation and he's there maybe 3 days a week and only one girl at the desk and one tech are still there, ok, i gave it a try. immediately, my vet not there, so female vet, brilliant, said , "admit her and iv". well that's great but they have no one there 24 hrs and they kept her for 2 days and then the witch (not the word i want to use) said "there's nothing more we can do for your dog, you have to go to the hospital". ok, so what if i nearly dropped dead. $2100 later we go to the hospital i like, not the one they recommend (who told me rex had days to live, and then lived 18 months with me home cooking and didnt die from liver failure as she said). nice internist. mellow. not rushing to give prednisone. great. puts her on the gross id food i swore i would never use. and an antibiotic. like maybe a month of it. two weeks later, same tsunami. back to internist. more id food, more antibiotic. she's off meds now, still on food, and in about a week i start weaning her fromm into the slop. she put on about 8 lbs , poo poo, looks great. let's see. i asked about scoping, he said "if you would do it" but honestly, with eli, I'm 4 grand down, and have no clue what the scope will show. she doesnt have cancer or if she does, she has it for 6 yrs. i think, and i think he may agree, something like irritable bowel, ulcers, stuff like that. give me stuff for that and i'll be happy.
in the meanwhile, my eli, the frenchie that is entirely my fault for not investigating french bulldogs. i admit, my doing. stupid. ALLERGIES. DID I KNOW? nope. 3 yrs old, only had 1 yeasty ear. all of a sudden, his stomach covered in pustules. pyoderma. gross. go to my vet who was stupid enough to allow his adult son to get a french bulldog from a byb. yes, you heard me and i screamed at him like a loon. he told me he knew they were in trouble when he asked to use the bathroom and she made him go to a gas station because she said it wasn't clean. not a great sign. gets a too small for the breed female, very sweet and has NEVER NOT HAD RASHES. my vet says, "what antibiotic is eli on", because now I'm back at the hospital to the dermatologist who assures me, and she and the tech both have french bulldogs IT'S ALLERGIES. NO NO NO NO. my vet now using the antibiotic eli is on but cant stay on it forever so waiting for him to call me as he told me he can never ever clear up his son's dogs rashes. all over, chin, belly, armpit. poor little pink washed up girl.ok, so we get a different antibiotic that is not what my vet gave me, special bathing solutions, wipes (i managed to use part of my warped brain and got insurance for him as soon as i got him and then, like a fool, read up-arse backwards) and this antibiotic is magic. 6 weeks, she says "not food" even tho eli is raw fed and we know she doesnt go for that so no discussion even about it. but she says "environmental". 2 different ways to test , one they knock them out and do whatever but that's not happening because flat faced dogs need different anesthesia and by now I'm so paranoid that i won't do it, so a blood test, and then they make serum and nick gives the shots. can take a year to work WHAT WHAT WHAT. a year???? meanwhile nick is bathing or i should say showering with eli who unlike a lab gives you the look of death and get the picture of nick, naked in the shower, on the floor, eli soaped up in his lap (i swear not a perv) and ten minutes with shampoo, then 10 minutes with this rinse and daily wipes with the same chlorhexidine. please why why why?
i speak to the breeder. he's ill, only breeding scottish foal or fold cats, very cute and less work. tells me very rare in his lines, and they were neutered or spayed immediately .eli's daddy is a champion , diego, from a vet who only breeds and shows in fla. i sent her an email but so far, not much only "ill get to you". the woman who i never met on the internet who had gotten eli's bro and had a female for 15 yrs from breeder told me NEVER IN THEIR LINES. yeah, well not exactly according to the breeder. very common but not many because he did the right thing and stopped breeding the ones that had allergies. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE. 4 grand in two months, my ankle is still killing me and I'm so unhappy .unhappy enough that i actually said THIS IS IT. NO MORE DOGS AFTER THEY GO. eli is only 3, so.....we have a while but there is a guiding eyes blank boy ready for me and i said "my ankle, blah blah blah". i cant do it . i can barely afford it. remember, nick not working due to ankle fusion-now working with new boss one day a week. not good for his head, or my pocketbook.
I'm misérable. sad for eli, sad for vangie, and just always in pain.
anyone have a dog that had allergies and had to have shots?
please, if you did, respond so i dont try and fit thru the window and jump because knowing my luck i will break something and live.
im baaaack.
