We have a new method of raising birds. We used to get a dozen at a time and they would all do the same thing at the same time. So we either had eggs or we just didn't. Finally, it came to us. Small batches. "Retired" birds cruise for ticks. Layers in their prime have housing for their batch. We cycle them through from aquarium to brooder box to mobile tractors to a group kennel. The four we raised over the winter started to lay so we picked up these four today.
I'm appalled it took me, like, ten years to figure that out.
