My dogs encounter kids all the time on morning walks because we live near an elementary school, and there are times when parents are just gabbing away and their very small children run over to my dogs and will use loud voices and just get in their faces and throw their arms around their necks and SQUEEZE!!!! There are instances when kids run across a side street to get to us! The children could easily be hit by cars! I always tell the little ones that they shouldn't run up to any dog, but should always ask permission before touching a dog. Luckily, my dogs are friendly, and have never had a bad reaction to something like this happening, but it's never a good idea to squeeze the living daylights out of any dog.
