Jerky From Ground Meat that Contains Ground Bone?
It seems I can buy a ground kangaroo raw meal with offal and ground bone, both kangaroo as well, for less than half the price I now pay at a butcher shop for human grade just ground kangaroo. The bone content is 15%. I thought I'd use it for Oban's jerky treats but checked with my Vet and she said no. She said I can't (she meant shouldn't) cook the bone. I didn't anticipate that being a reason not to use the stuff. I know I shouldn't cook and feed whole bones because the cooking makes them apt to splinter. This stuff is ground though, it looks like hamburger. I just googled and found nothing to say either way, yay or nay. Anybody know? Thoughts?
