Justice for Ponce.

Please consider signing the petition for harsher laws against animal abusers and killers. Last weekend here in Florida a nine month old lab puppy was gagged and beaten to death by an owner who didn't deserve him. Ponce was just being a puppy when he chewed a few items and suffered horribly. He had a fractured skull, broken ribs, broken teeth and puncture wounds. The owner was arrested after the police were called by the neighbors for help as they could here Ponce wailing in pain. I have further articles if anyone is interested.

God bless you, Haley. I don't know anyone on the site who isn't nauseated by this event. I would sign a petition to have the bastard owner drawn and quartered then hung in public. But only after his teeth and finger/toes nails were extracted.

The problem is with the impulse to seek laws to stop abuse. If you look into your state statutes, you'll probably find that they are pretty well written. They most ABSOLUTELY made the treatment this dog received completely illegal. It was probably a felony. It did not spare this poor pup. Nor will a new law.

The HSUS is pushing, in every state, to have animal cruelty laws rewritten to include things that are clearly NOT cruelty. In many cases, the laws make training a dog impossible. They often proscribe normal training equipment.

Sadly, the HSUS has politicized the issue to such a degree that the dog community has had to take a very jaundiced eye to any animal-related bills that are proposed in state legislatures.

I hope he goes to hell.

Poor puppy.
