I think, if you know your dog and are a good observer, you'll understand what they're trying to tell you. Mine pretty much paint a picture for me.
Run to owner.
Bounce up and down acting excited.
Owner stands up.
Bounce up and down until she begins to follow.
Run to dinner dish... bounce up and down.
Run back to stupid owner who isn't moving in the right direction, bounce up and down.
Run to dinner dish, bounce up and down
Run to owner, bounce up and down. When she looks at you, run to dinner dish and bounce up and down.
Etc.
