"Damp Dawg"
Aye Mates,
Our retrievers love their work and will do anything to get in the water and make yet another retrieve., The mercury is steadily moving downward and as it does the potential for hypothermia increases for our hard working and damp dogs. Watch ye dogs closely whilst hunting them in frigid conditions, especially when they are wet and evaporative heat loss can quickly exacerbate heat loss related problems. Take precautionary measures as needed to reduce what might easily result in the loss o' ye gun dog.
Safe gunning to all,
Irishwhistler

Good advice and a great shot of TRAD!

Good advice! I was just thinking it’ll soon be time to take out Cookie’s neoprene vest we got her last winter .... she loves to swim but gets chilled quicker than the other two, and the vest helped a bit. We’re fortunate in that we can hike to/from the lake right from our house, so no worries about wet dogs resting in the car getting chilled - they are running around up until the time we get home :-) .

Great picture!
I'm told that Katie loves to get in the water. Getting too cold here for any swims this year.
