Had to share
I finally got approved for Social Security Disability It took almost 5 years. I hate that I can't work a full time job but over the years I have found ways to satisfy my need to be of use by training service dogs and teaching kids with disabilities to ride horses.
This has come at the most needed time as I was starting to run out of savings.

I'm happy for you...getting approved is, of some necessity, a long drawn-out process...and frustrating, to say the least. For people whose issues are negatively affected by stress (pretty much everything), it's a nightmare.

I'm rry sorry it took so long to get approved, but glad it came through for you.

I'm glad it has finally come through. I think many people think getting on disability is an easy process and that it's easy to game the system. As you can well attest, it's not. I applaud your efforts to continue to offer your skill, knowledge and time to others.

Glad to hear you made it through the system. I applied over 18 months ago, and I'm still waiting for the hearing, which my lawyer said will take at least a year, maybe 2. She told me they basically hope you will die, or just give up and go away. Luckily I have my military retirement and VA disability coming in. I really would like to work a full time job, but with all the issues I have, it's pretty much out of the question. I've been working about 15 hours a week for the past year, and even that's getting to be to much. I have foot surgery scheduled for next month, and I've given my notice to my boss that I won't be back.

Barry they draw it out as long as they can. And I believe what she said to you. I wish you the best through the process. Honestly it took a lot of work to come to terms with the fact that I can't work a full time job, I totally understand your issues. Wishing you the best and speedy recovery with your surgery,

Good to hear you got approved. You beat 'the system'!! Even with your problems, you still give from your heart to others less fortunate. God bless you. :applause:
