Greetings!
I am new to this forum. I have a pure bred black lab that is around 6 years old. I was running one day with my German Shorthair and he (Marley) joined up with us. I searched a few days for his rightful owners and finally found them. Oddly enough, they did not want him back, so I became a reluctant owner of two dogs. That was over four years ago.
My reason for locating this forum is that Marley is losing serious weight. I do exercise him many miles each day. Today, for instance, we covered 10 miles. Some of it was jogged, while a majority was walked. So he does get massive exercise. I feed him Taste of the Wild (grain free) dog food. In December 2016 he weighed 60 lbs. This last December, he weighed 52 lbs. We now give him 4 cups of food per day. All blood tests and his recent checkup show he is healthy. The vet thought he looked thinner than most labs he sees in his practice but otherwise was not concerned. People that see Marley believe we are starving him. He acts ravenous most of the time...doing many naughty things. All food has to be in drawers or cupboards or Marley will eat it. Weight has only been an issue during the last 1 to 1 1/2 years.
Apparently I’m not allowed to post a pic yet. You can text me at (563) 468-3328 if you want to see a pic of Marley.
I welcome any suggestions you have to offer concerning Marley’s health! Thanks!
