Abbey and Hershey
Some of you may remember me. I had two gorgeous labs, a black one named Abbey, and a chocolate named Hershey. I just wanted to share that we have lost both of them in the last seven months.
Abbey passed suddenly in August. She was with us one moment, and after a long sigh in the back of our van, was gone...just like that. No forewarning. Heartbreaking...she was 11 and a half.
And then Hershey started going downhill. He was diagnosed with laryngeal paralysis, started growing lumps, and had troubles with his rear end. After a cold winter here and some scary moments with his breathing, my DH wanted to try the tie back surgery. Unfortunately, he did not do well and we had to allow him to go a day later, in February.
We have been crying ever since. It is so hard to let them go!
i wanted to tell you that I so appreciated this safe place to ask questions, get advice, and be part of a lab community. Thank you.
My heart wants another pup but we will take the time to heal first.
Please cuddle up your seniors tonight. All the best.
Susan

It is tough to loose two so close together, so sorry for your losses.

We're here. Let us lend you support now and share your travels when the time is right and your new pup comes along.

Oh, I am so sorry. Losing them so close together is more than double the heartbreak.
-
I’m so sorry; I remember Abby and Hershey from earlier days. We lost Kimber at the end of January. The days are getting easier, but we are still grieving.

I am so sorry for your losses :( Two back to back like that is so hard, i cannot imagine.

I'm so sorry to read that you lost both Abbey and Hershey. It is awfully hard to lose them at all, much less so close together. Hugs to you as your hearts adjust to the change. Rest in Peace, pups.

Very sorry for your losses. Losing one is hard enough, losing two that close together is unimaginable.
