She usually has to be dragged outside in the morning, as she loves her sleep. However, each time she went out, she was struggling to go number 2, and wasn’t able to get anything to come out. So a few hours later, she was crying at the door to go out again. This has me worried because she is a dog that occasionally eats things she shouldn’t (ex. Her harness, collar, etc.) but, she almost always throws whatever she shouldn’t have eaten up. She is crated when she is home alone for her safety. I don’t know if she got into something and swallowed it, I just know it isn’t outside the realm of possibility. We also just started adding a very small amount of wet food to her meals (less than a tablespoon per 2 cups dry food in the morning and again in the afternoon). She has access to the backyard to do her business, so we don’t have to see her go. Because of this, I’m not sure the last time she was able to successfully go number 2, but waking up all throughout the night only started last night. I took the day off work today to stay home with her to monitor her, but I’m wondering what I should do. Of course my first thought is to rush her to the vet, but I didn’t know if there were any home remedies I could try first.
