Katie Update
Been a scary, rough time. She started antibiotic and that night was horrible, panting, short naps, up and down, obviously uncomfortable. 48 hours of antibiotic and she is much more herself. Ultrasound was considered but vet wanted to get 48 hours of antibiotic in her. She's bouncing up and down on her front feet at meal time, bringing her stuffie to play and overall more Katie. The first night I was up till 3am keeping a watch on her then DH got up and stayed up the rest of the night. The bit of puffiness around the incision and pinkish color is gone. Blood work all came back normal except for white blood cell count which was expected. Her drinking much more than normal has pretty much resolved and she is pooping normal. Oh, the day I took her to the vet she did not poop at all and I was afraid of a blockage from adhesions. That resolved the next day in spades. Told the vet I may be too old for this happening, my nerves are shot. She said NO, NO! We expected a little more in healing time but not the infection. She goes back in 10 days for another check and maybe continued antibiotics. We all slept so well last night.
Thank you, everyone, for the mojo and prayers. If anyone ever doubts their power, come and see Katie today.
