UTI Prevention
Any recommendations on supplements that will help prevent UTIs? Maci is a REALLY low squatter and had gotten a UTI. On 10 days of antibiotics, was wondering if anyone uses a daily maintenance supplement to help prevent them.
Also, any recommendations on probiotics. We tried the sea kelp probiotics by missing link but it caused soft stool in her. Apparently sea keep is a natural laxative. Thanks!

I use Probios probiotics. Check with your vet to see if ester c is a good option for your pup. Supposed to be good for UTI prevention. I found a great powder Ester c that I give my boys (for joint issues).
Good luck

I haven't had to deal with this but many people on here over the years have had pups with UTIs. The first 2 things that come to mind from those older posts would be trying crancaps to acidify the urine and wiping the pup's vulva with unscented baby wipes when she finishes peeing. I don't recall the age of your pup. Is it possible she has a recessed vulva and has she been spayed already?
An old member who was on here frequently used to have a blog where she described the use of crancaps to kind of acidify the urine and using pH strips to keep track of the urine pH. (SnowcoLabs) I can't seem to open the link to her blog any longer. I'll attach a link to an older thread about UTIs that might help. Maybe someone else knows more about the use of crancaps (cranberry extract) or Vitamin C to keep the urine pH in a desirable range. Or I guess you could discuss it with your vet.
Sophie has an UTI!!

I give both of mine cranberry...vet advice for Sunnie and vet agreement for Dan.
Dan gets: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Sunnie gets: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Sunnie's is a higher dose.
[No UTIs here...just to acidify the urine as prevention.]

My pup Dozer has had Urinary Tract Issues - UTI and Struvite Cystals that started when he was 11 weeks old. He was been treated with Antibiotics and we have him on a maintenance dose of Vitamin C, one tablet twice daily and Cranberry capsules once daily. His last urinalysis was negative. Check with your Vet, but this has helped my pup. He is now almost 7 months old. Good luck!!

IGNORE THE PRODUCT I LISTED ABOVE AS BEING WHAT SUNNIE GETS. Sunnie and Dan had bloodwork this week. Sunnie's pH ROSE to 7.5 on that product. Dan was at 6. I'm switching Sunnie over to Dan's product and tossing the other in the trash. Maybe the softgel doesn't have enough time to fully dissolve in a dog's short digestive tract. Who knows
Sunnie's bloodwork indicated perfection (hee hee) and no reason for stopping her Rimadyl (Rovera). Dan's ALT, meanwhile, is still going up. No symptoms. Not gonna biopsy at this time.
