The Ward Museum of Wildfowl Art
I've been wanting to go see the museum for a number of years, and we finally made the trip to see it this past Sunday. The museum is located in Salisbury, MD, whihc is about an hour and a half drive, and I can say it was well worth the trip. The main focus of the museum is wildfowl decoys that were used by hunters not only on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, but of carvers all over North America.
I was blown away by the artistry of the decoys on display, many of which were actually made to function as actual hunting decoys. The judging of these decoys involves how well they perform on the water.
The link will take you to pictures I shot during our visit. And let's just say the pictures truly don't do these pieces of art justice!
