Sometimes life is unfair
A friend adopted a pitbull through a "prison rescue pups" program a few years ago. "T" is the sweetest, most soulful pitbull you'll ever meet. She was incredibly skittish when first adopted, and we've all followed her progress closely over the past couple of years on Facebook as "T" learned that she could trust my friend. We all cheered as she overcame scary things like going through strange doorways, men in hats, vacuum cleaners, lawn ornaments, etc. Through it all, even at her most fearful, "T" has shown nothing but love and deep, deep gratitude to my friend. She has become a favorite in the neighborhood, with kids coming to friend's house to see if "T" can come out and play.
But you know this lovely tale is taking a sad turn, right? Yesterday, "T" was diagnosed with leukemia. Not sure about the details yet, but my heart is very sad. I know my friend is devastated. Hug your pups, close.

I am so very sorry that such a horrible thing like this has happened to a dog and her people that have gone thru so much to become a happy dog. Life is indeed not only unfair, but sometimes it just sucks!!

So sorry to hear they are going through this. :(

Sounds heartbreaking. Let us know if they decide to try any sort of treatment or how things go. My best thoughts to them.

So sad it just does't seem fair with all she has overcome to become this great sounding dog.
