Need advice for 6 month old

I have a 6 month old that used to love taking short walks with me either through a park or in my backyard. I got her spayed last week and ever since then she's been attacking when I try to walk her out back. This isn't the normal puppy biting, she's trying to hurt someone. I'm afraid to take her to a park around others until I get this under control. Any idea why this might be happening when it hasn't before and what I can do to stop it (something I can train out of her?)

Other than when she's outside, she plays nicely and cuddles. She's her usual happy-go-lucky self.

Were there any complications to her spay? Has her recovery been otherwise uneventful?

If everything else has been normal, I'm wondering if it's possible that she's having a hormonal reaction. Why not run this by your vet and see what he/she has to say.

Everything went really well with her spay. She was a little sad not being able to run and play while she recovered but things went smoothly with it.

I would put this on video and show it to a certified veterinary behaviorist in order to get professional advice. While you could video it and post it here to get some thought, no one on this board is a professional trainer or behaviorist and without seeing what is happening, it's hard to give advice anyway. If the dog is actually biting or attacking aggressively, that is a HUGE liability, and I'd go straight to a professional for help, not to a message board. If you mess with this or take bad advice, you could be looking at a lawsuit and have to euthanize your dog. Don't mess with this, go straight to a professional who can help you. I've always been told 10 days of rest after a spay, maybe your pup is one who needs the full time? I find it concerning this is happening only one week after her spay. Not to scare you but things can go wrong in a surgery and maybe she hurts? I'd be back to the Vet. Video is a very good idea.

This is a valid point, I missed the fact that this was during the first week after the spay. I didn't even take my dogs anywhere during the 2 weeks after. They stay home and rest. I would have the vet check since typically the course of action when a dog's personality changes is to have the vet check them out.

We're always told that a recovery period, male or female, is 10 to 14 days and we err on the side of caution with that. That's usually a long two weeks but we've never had any complications (we also do the cone of shame except for meals and walks and then I watch like a hawk).

I'm just seeing this, while I agree no one here on the board can diagnose this.. But if your dog was okay before the spay, I would suspect she may be in some kind of discomfort.

My only advice is to take her back to your Vet, explain what's going on and hopefully, your Vet can examine her and see if there's anything wrong.

Hope you can get to the bottom of this.
