Is this safe around dogs?

Hi, Does anyone know anything about the sweetener "Bochasweet"? Of course I would never intentionally feed my Lab anything that might harm her. And I know Xylitol is Toxic to dogs, so I won't use any products that contain xylitol. I called the Bochasweet company and they told me that it is made from pumpkins and that xylitol is made from Birch bark and/or corn. However they are both in the "Pentose" category, so I thought I would ask if anyone has any knowledge about it. The salesman claims he has other customers that have given it to their dogs that have diabetes, but I don't want to take his word for it alone.

I looked it up and see where it's made from Kabocha. The article above mentions kabocha gourd as having made dogs sick. It's in the same family as pumpkin but it is not pumpkin.

I always say if I'm not sure about something, I would just keep my dog away from it.

I would guess it may not be safe for dogs.
