Benji could use some mojo!
Hi everyone -- it's been a while! Hope you all had a wonderful holiday. I've been back from college for about a month and I'm headed back next week after a wonderful winter hanging out with Benji and celebrating his upcoming 11th birthday.
Sadly, after he slipped on the tile in our kitchen, Ben started limping and whimpering, favoring his front left leg. The vet prescribed some Previcox and Gabapentin--she suspects some inflammation or nerve issue in one of the neck discs, since he has full range of motion and is weight-bearing on his legs but can't move his neck too much. His creatinine levels were a little high at his last annual, so we also did a follow up test to check kidney function. That is making me worry about Previcox, too.
I was told to keep him calm and rested for a few days before re-evaluating, which is typical protocol in the horse world too (the wonders of stall rest!) but it's still killing me to see my baby like this. Would love some mojo (and any advice from people that have been in similar boats).
