I apologize for the subject matter here. I need some suggestions on Pro Plan adult food. I have been feeding Maggie a different brand (Wellness) of puppy food- she was doing ok with it, some soft poo occasionally, but seemed very healthy. I attempted to gradually switch to an adult formula recently and it was disastrous. The worst diarrhea I have ever seen a dog have, going much more frequently, scooting bum on ground, etc . Her energy and behavior otherwise was unchanged. I thought it had something to do with the food change, but wanted to be sure, so vet checked a stool sample and it was negative for everything. He suggested I try to feed either Pro Plan or Eukanuba and see if the change would help. I decided to try Pro Plan (she ate this for her 1st several months, it is what her breeder feeds). So I got another bag of the Focus Puppy (one with the adorable lab pup on the bag) and within 24 hours her digestive system was much better, and within 48 she was doing great. In fact, doing a lot better digestive wise than she ever did on Wellness. My question is, can anyone recommend an adult formula? There are so many! I wanted to get a bag of adult, but got the puppy again because I was not sure which to buy. There does not seem to be an adult focus that is not either large or small breed. In reading the bags the Sport formulas seem to be the most similar ingredient wise to the focus puppy- but there are three if them. Suggestions? Ingredient wise I really liked the Wellness, but so far the Pro Plan result has been much better. She is 7.5 months, is it ok to do at least one other large bag of the puppy so as not to disrupt things again? The mineral contents seems to be mostly identical between the formulas. Thank you!
